So I doubt many of you read the first post I ever made on this blog, but it featured a mashup artist from France named Elocnep. It’s been awhile since I’ve posted his works and I feel rather bad that I lost track of him for a bit there. But he emailed me the other day to show me what he’d been up to lately. He’s been posting a five track mashup EP every month. And these are some high quality mashups. I think in my first post the one complaint I had with his mashups was that he didn’t have very creative names for his mashups. As you can see below, he’s rather made up for that lack.
Here’s a track off of his Smash the Dancefloor 3: I’m Not Done Part 1 EP which you can download for free on Facebook here or stream in its entirety for free on SoundCloud here. Elocnep’s mashups have gotten a bit more complicated since last I posted. This track has a lot of fun with the synths that it opens with. They reappear in various forms throughout the track. This track builds gradually until the sample that Avicii made iconic prepares the track for a drop into bass, “Alors On Danse”, and Nicki Minaj. This song feels like it just gets bigger and bigger. Enjoy it!
Next up, here’s a track off of his Smash the Dancefloor 3: I’m Not Done Part 2 EP which you can download for free on Facebook here or stream in its entirety for free on SoundCloud here. This track has a funkier opening than the last one and gets right into the swing of dance-ability. The sheer number of things that are going on in this song is overwhelming, so when the music drops down to showcase some vocals it feels like time to breathe before jumping back into the fray. Give it a listen and enjoy!
